Benefit golf tournaments planned

Golfers in the 501 looking for a tournament to play in have a few great opportunities coming up.

The first chance is on Friday, Sept. 21, as Nabholz Construction presents the Conway Noon Rotary Hippo Crafton Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament, to benefit the Faulkner County Boys and Girls Club and polio eradication by Rotary, will take place at The Greens at Nutters Chapel golf course.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. the day of the tournament with shotgun start times at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided by T.G.I. Friday’s. Four-man teams are $400. Teams can also stash away a few mulligans, which are $20 each with a limit of four mulligans per team.

Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places.

Additional sponsorship for the tournament is available, including sponsoring a hole for $150.

The Little Rock Ace Hardware will host the Children’s Miracle Network Natural State Classic golf tournament to benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital on Monday, Sept. 24, at Centennial Valley Country Club in Conway.

Registration for the tournament begins at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start for the tournament is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

There are many levels of sponsorship available for individuals and companies. Hole and hazard sponsorships are also available.

The tournament is a four-man team tournament. Registration is $100 per golfer. The cost includes fees, cart, a goody bag and lunch.

Prizes will be given for the first place team, longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt. There will also be a Hole-in-One Extravaganza with a $10,000 cash prize.

Other events include raffle prizes, helping hands and power shot. Mulligans will also be available.

The Conway Firefighters IAFF Local 4016 will host its 13th annual Charity Golf Classic four-man scramble at The Greens at Nutters Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The tournament will benefit Sonshine Academy and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Entry fee is $320 per team, which includes a golf cart. Each team member will be allowed one mulligan. Space is limited to the first 22 teams to confirm, so register quickly.

The tournament has an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

In addition to the tournament, there will also be door prizes, hole-in-one prizes and closest to the pin and long drive prizes.

Lunch will be provided by JJ’s Grill and complimentary drinks will be provided on the course.
