Beebe player signs with CBC softball

National Christian College Athletic Association coach of the year and Central Baptist College head softball coach Jordon Jones recently announced the addition of another new player to her squad. Katie Gordon will join the Mustangs in August, joining a CBC squad that won the 2018 NCCAA World Series.

Gordon is from Beebe and will be transferring from Harding University in Searcy, where she played for the Bison during her freshman season. She started 58 games at third base last season and finished with a .268 batting average, a .368 on-base percentage, 24 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, three home runs and 20 runs batted in while finishing fifth in the Great American Conference with 18 steals. She was also in the Top 10 in hit by pitches and sacrifices.

She will also contribute to CBC in the classroom, as she was selected to the Dean’s List at Harding.

Gordon, who played third and short in high school, was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection at Beebe and was the Arkansas All-Star MVP in 2017. She also played two years of high school softball in Mississippi at Northwest Rankin High, where she was selected as the offensive and defensive MVP during her sophomore season.
