BayFest planned Sept. 14

The 2019 summer season may be over, but the fun is still in full swing at BayFest in the Park, a free, pet-friendly, family-friendly all-day festival planned Saturday, Sept. 14, in Ed Leamon Park.

This is the fifth year for the annual festival.

“No festival season is complete without BayFest,” said Dan Feuer, festival chairman. “This year, we’re concentrating on making it an even more pet-friendly, family centric atmosphere with games and food everyone can enjoy.”

Vendors will open at 10 a.m. Each year, BayFest features merchants from all across the state, offering handmade arts and crafts to homemade treats and clothing.

There will be bounce houses for the kids to enjoy, as well as several food vendors with a host of yummy treats sure to satisfy everyone.

New for 2019 are the Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dogs from Kentucky. These high-flying pooches will leave you in awe of their athleticism as they run, jump and dance their way into your hearts. These famous dogs – most rescues – have been featured on Good Morning America and the Today show.

Shows are planned at 11 a.m. 1:30 and 3 p.m.

A pet parade is also planned. First, second and third places prizes will be awarded in three divisions – small, medium and large, with a Best of Show Award.

The festival could not be what it is without sponsors. Organizers expressed their appreciation to the Cowboy Auto Group, Women With a Purpose (WWAP), Nestlehut Insurance, Craven’s, FL Davis, Grass Roots Equipment & Outdoors and Tice Realty for their support.
