Baptist Health’s youth program encourages better lifestyle choices 

LITTLE ROCK – Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center will offer two fall sessions of its Healthy & Active Youth Program, which encourages kids and their families to live a healthier lifestyle through fun, interactive activities. 

The Healthy & Active Youth Program is a free program for youth, ages 11 to 17 and their families. It incorporates all elements of health, including nutrition and physical activity. 

This year’s fall sessions will be Sept. 12-Oct. 17 (Session 1) and Nov. 7-Dec. 12 (Session 2). Each meeting is held at Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center, 10915 N. Rodney Parham Road, Suite G, in Little Rock. 

Participants will receive an exercise kit they can use at home and will learn about:

  • Snacks on the go
  • Why breakfast is important 
  • Cooked and uncooked portions 
  • Sugary drinks and their effects
  • Healthy eating 
  • How to exercise and why it’s important
  • Guided workouts and programming 
  • Fun games

The Baptist Health Healthy and Active Youth Program is funded by Baptist Health Foundation, supported by the Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust and facilitated by Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center.
