11 Aug 2010 BALD KNOB: Focus on continuing success after Bulldogs’ monster year

The Bulldogs beat Subiaco Academy, Star City and Stuttgart in the playoffs before falling at Shiloh Christian.

Bald Knob returns 11 starters from last year’s team.

“We have good playoff experience returning,” Coach Paul Johnston said. “But we have a new quarterback and an unproven linebacker corps.”

Senior Jordan Johnston (6-4, 220) returns as the Bulldogs’ leading receiver. He’ll be joined by a talented senior receiver – Joey Miller (5-11, 160). Senior offensive lineman Zach Shoebottom (6-0, 220) anchors both sides of the line. Johnston recorded 14 sacks last fall at defensive end.

The Bulldogs are moving down to the 3-3A from the 2-4A.

“We should make the top four in the new conference,” Johnston said. “We have a tough non-conference schedule. I feel we will compete dropping down to 3A. It’s a good fit for us.”
