Art on the Green marks two-year anniversary

Lunch with Artist-in-Residence Bonnie McKay on Thursday, Oct. 1, will kick off Art on the Green’s holiday events season.

"This is our way to give back, to encourage and educate our community with our own resources," said gallery director Brenda McClain. "We will not charge for lunch, but reservations must be made to secure a ‘Place at the Table.’

"We have an amazing group of artists and each brings their unique perspective to our lunch."

October lunches scheduled on Thursdays:

  • Oct. 1 — Bonnie McKay
  • Oct. 8 — Ava Jane Newell
  • Oct. 15 — Linda Flake
  • Oct. 22 — Lois Giorgis
  • Oct. 29 — Cathy Wester

"We want the groups to be small enough to inspire conversation and allow guests to take a peek into why our artists’ works are so unique, beautiful."

Lunches are limited to eight guests. Lunch will begin at 12:03 p.m. and end promptly at 1:33 p.m.

October also launches "Painting by Heart," a series of three one-night classes beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Bonnie McKay will create and teach painting still life unique to each class. Art on the Green will provide art supplies along with an evening supper.

This will be a "don’t miss" for McKay fans and friends.

Limited to 10, students will leave Art on the Green with a completed project. Additional dates are Mondays, Nov. 2, and Nov. 30. Cost for each class is $45. Reservations are being accepted now, by calling 501.205.1922.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with Art available for purchase. Private showings can be scheduled anytime.

Art on the Green centers on this mission: Learn. Teach. Read. See. Understand. All in one place.
