Arkansas River Valley Tri-Peaks event April 9

The Arkansas River Valley Tri-Peaks Tourism Association will hold its Annual Membership Banquet and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Mount Nebo State Park Pavilion, 16728 State Hwy. 155, Dardanelle.

The banquet will attract top business tourism community leaders throughout the region, including Conway, Johnson, Logan, Perry, Pope and Yell counties. The event will celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, with guest speaker and local baseball historian Jim Yeager. He is the author of “Backroads and Ballplayers,” released in October 2018, which features more than 50 stories and biographical chapters on the lives of professional baseball players from rural Arkansas.

The format of the upcoming event includes a silent auction (to benefit a college student with a scholarship), dinner and the recognition of one recipient from each of the six counties for their endeavors to promote tourism in the region. The overall Charlie Johnson Award will also be awarded.

The Tri-Peaks Association invites all Tri-Peaks members and the public to attend. Tickets are $25.00 and are available at the Arkansas River Valley Tri-Peaks office (708 West Main, Russellville – inside the chamber of commerce). Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
