27 Apr 2026 Arkansas Chamber Singers will present a spring concert May 9
The Arkansas Chamber Singers (ACS) will perform a spring concert titled “Parables and Poetry: A Celebration of Composer William Averitt and Poet Robert Bode,” at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Admission is free.

The concert will be a dedicated celebration of the acclaimed creative partnership between composer William Averitt and poet Robert Bode. The afternoon’s centerpiece is the highly anticipated world premiere of “Parables,” a new work that anchors a program highlighting the duo’s evocative and lyrical contributions to modern choral music.
This unique event offers more than just a performance; attendees are invited to an intimate “Meet the Composer & Poet” session at 3 p.m. in the St. James Welcome Center, providing a rare behind-the-scenes look at the collaborative process before the full concert begins at 5 p.m. A reception will follow, and donations are gratefully accepted.
ACS is an auditioned vocal ensemble dedicated to enriching the lives of the people of Arkansas. It is a nonprofit organization.
