Arbor Day workshop to be held

The Arkansas Urban Forestry Council will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation by sponsoring a workshop in Conway that will benefit Tree Board members, Tree City USA communities and citizens interested in helping their communities become a Tree City USA.

Held from 9:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, the workshop will be at the Faulkner County Natural Resource Center in Conway.

This workshop is designed to assist you as an existing or potential board member with new ideas and knowledge that will be beneficial to you and your community tree board. You will hear presentations from experts from the Arbor Day Foundation, Arkansas Forestry Commission, UA Cooperative Extension Service and various Tree Boards.

Cost for the workshop is $15, which includes lunch. Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 14.

Online registration and a brochure are available at ArkansasTrees.org/events.

For questions about registration or to learn more about AUFC, visit ArkansasTrees.org or contact Cathy Slater at 501.625.3710 or info@ArkansasTrees.org.

This workshop is sponsored by Arkansas Forestry Association Education Foundation, USDA Forest Service, Arkansas Forestry Commission and Arkansas Urban Forestry Council. It is held in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the City of Conway Tree Board and the UA Division of Agriculture, Research and Extension.
