April 5 set as deadline for Unity’s CAMP applications

Unity Health CAMP applications are now available at unity-health.org/unity-health-camp. 

CAMP (Careers and Medical Professions) is a free program for students entering 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2019 who are interested in careers in the healthcare field. Students will have medical-related opportunities, including learning basic nursing skills, CPR and first aid, touring Unity Health facilities, shadowing medical personnel and mock interviews. 

The five-day program is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 10, through Friday, June 14, at Unity Health – White County Medical Center. Participants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, complete the application form, write a 100-150-word essay on their interest in the CAMP program, and provide a recent school transcript and two letters of recommendation. There are no prerequisites to participate in CAMP and lunch is provided each day.
