App of the month: Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood

by Brittany Gilbert

When I discovered the Daniel Tiger app from PBS Kids, I knew it was going to be a good day.

Like most preschoolers, our 3-year-old son Canaan is obsessed with all things Daniel Tiger. If it were up to him, we would watch the TV show all day long.

What I love about this app is the familiar characters and songs that kids love. There are five activities for kids to explore. Your kids can help Daniel Tiger with everyday routines that look a lot like experiences that they have. You can play doctor with Daniel and play with instruments you may see in the doctor’s office. Help Daniel get ready for bed and also practice bathroom routines with the help of the popular “potty song” that has become a staple in our house.

I don’t feel there is enough offered with this app to charge $2.99 , especially when there are so many great free apps for children. However, if your kids love Daniel Tiger as much as our son does, it is worth the price.

$2.99 in the App Store and Google Play
