Annual princess and superhero event planned

Women for Harding will host the Eighth Annual Princess and Superhero Party from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Heritage Auditorium of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building.

The party will begin with a princess and superhero parade of characters on stage. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costumes to enjoy snacks, crafts and other activities. Tickets are on sale at hardingtickets.com.

Harding students who are Women for Harding Scholarship recipients will portray 30 different characters at this year’s event. The popular “House of Hair” will once again add to the fun for princess and superhero guests by providing accessories, hairstyles and makeup.

“The Women for Harding Scholarship recipients who portray the princess and superhero characters absolutely love bringing these characters to life for children in our community,” said Heather Kemper, event and project director for alumni and parent relations. “The joy is contagious during the event. It’s a magical morning you don’t want to miss!”

In addition to the annual party, this year’s event will include an optional VIP Character Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in Cone Chapel, available at an additional cost.

“Each year we strive to enhance the Princess Superhero experience for our guests,” said Kemper. “This year we are excited to announce the additional option of our VIP Character Breakfast where guests have the opportunity for exclusive one-on-one interaction with their favorite characters while enjoying a delicious kid-friendly breakfast buffet.”

Party-only tickets are $10 for children ages 2-12 and $5 for attendees 13 and older. Tickets for the VIP Character Breakfast are $20 and include admission to the Princess Superhero Party. Children under 2 are free. Tickets may be purchased at hardingtickets.com, 501.279.4276, or the Harding University Alumni Office. The community is invited to attend and all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
