Animal rescue event in Little Rock

On Thursday, May 12, Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals, Inc. (“CARE”) will host one of its most visible and popular events — Paws on the Runway at Next Level Events.

CARE’s Ninth Annual Paws on the Runway will honor the beloved memory of Lyndae Sain Allison and recognize her many contributions to the animal-welfare community.

Becky Rogers of B98.5 and THV’s Craig O’Neill will serve as co-emcees. Guests will enjoy food, beverages and silent and live auctions while watching Little Rock’s movers and shakers strut down the runway.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet a few of CARE’s adoptable animals.

CARE Executive Director Ashley Younger expects this to be the event’s best year yet. “CARE is proud to honor Lyndae Allison’s legacy by challenging this year’s attendees to get involved,” she said. “The rescue slogan goes, ‘If you can’t adopt, foster. If you can’t foster, sponsor. If you can’t sponsor, volunteer. If you can’t volunteer, donate.’

“In short, we ‘dare’ our guests to show they CARE about Arkansas’s homeless pets.”

CARE was established in 1998 for the dual purposes of rescuing abandoned cats and dogs facing euthanasia in Arkansas shelters, as well as providing low-cost spay/neuter programs. CARE has grown from an initial group of four volunteers into a well-known nonprofit organization with three employees and hundreds of volunteers who devote thousands of hours toward continuing CARE’s mission.

CARE also partners with the Arkansas Department of Correction on the Paws in Prison program. For more information on CARE or Paws on the Runway, please visit careforanimals.org/.
