501DER WOMAN 2026: Kelley Krogman

Kelley Krogman became an educator to make a difference and bring joy to learning, a spark lit by a sixth-grade teacher who brought ancient civilizations to life in the classroom. “Those moments shaped my passion for teaching,” said Krogman, building principal at Greenbrier Westside Elementary.

She earned her master’s degree in special education and her educational specialist degree in educational leadership, both from the University of Central Arkansas.

As her career progressed, Krogman found her purpose shifting toward creating a workplace where teachers feel supported and able to thrive. “While education is always about students, the support we provide teachers is what truly transforms a child’s learning experience. I want great teachers to choose Westside every day because their impact on kids is unmatched,” she said.

Professional development remains central to her leadership. Krogman praised the Arkansas Leadership Academy’s Master Principal Program as “the most rewarding and impactful professional development of my career,” noting that connections with principals across the state have broadened her perspective on school improvement.

She credits her success to a network of “Wonder Women” who support her personally and professionally. “Leadership, especially as a woman, isn’t meant to be done alone. It takes a village,” she said. She points to her mother’s example of love and presence, her staff’s commitment, fellow principals who push her to lead with purpose, her assistant principal as her “right hand,” and friends who show up when needed.

Disney remains a source of joy, rooted in childhood trips to Disneyland in California, where she grew up. She also enjoys the presence and energy of different moments, no matter what the activity, including days at the ballfield with her sports-oriented family. Krogman and her husband, Kyle, have four children: Nash, Dax, and twin daughters Everlee and Jovee.
