10 May 2026 501DER WOMAN 2026: Julia Dossett Morgan
Julia Dossett Morgan has spent her entire career in the nonprofit world, but her path began in a place many wouldn’t expect: the theater. Her first job at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company sparked a lifelong love of the arts and introduced her to a community she describes as “creative, passionate and service-minded.” That early experience shaped her belief that meaningful work happens when people bring their talent, creativity and compassion together.

At the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, Dossett Morgan channels that same spirit into the Institute’s mission. Whether she’s welcoming donors, program partners, corporate sponsors or first-time visitors to Petit Jean Mountain, she finds fulfillment in creating a space where every voice matters. “There is truly a seat for everyone at our table,” she said.
Dossett Morgan holds a master’s degree in public administration and is a certified professional community and economic developer, credentials she earned while working full-time and raising two children. She is proud of the life she and her husband, Dr. Andrew Morgan, have built in Conway with their sons, Henry (13) and Oliver (11) — one filled with art, nature, culture and friendship.
Her joy comes from life’s simplicities: coffee on the patio with her husband, listening to a bird’s song, her sons reading beside her and the energy of a live performance. A longtime supporter of the arts, she has served on the boards of Conway Alliance for the Arts and Create Conway, believing deeply that a thriving community must nurture creativity.
She credits her boss, Janet Harris, as a Wonder Woman in her life, a model of intentional leadership, working motherhood and integrity. As a message to her younger self, she’d offer this encouragement: “Keep listening well because you’re learning a lot, but speak up earlier. Your ideas are good, and you don’t need to earn the right to share them.”
