10 May 2026 501DER WOMAN 2026: Danic Ordonez, MD
From an early foundation built on purpose and perseverance, Danica Ordonez, MD, has always approached her path with intention. Today as an OB-GYN at Baptist Health Women’s Clinic in Conway, she is dedicated to walking alongside women through every stage of life, providing care that is both compassionate and comprehensive.

“I believe women’s health care begins with listening and educating about health and wellness,” she said. “We must treat each patient as a whole in order to provide the best care.”
A graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ordonez went on to complete her training at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Her decision to pursue this field was rooted in a desire to make a meaningful difference in women’s health. “The journey I take with women through their life and health is what I find most fulfilling in my career,” she said.
Her inspiration for this work can be traced back to one of the most influential women in her life — her mother, Marie Ordonez. “She has always been my role model for hard work, perseverance and empathy,” Ordonez said. “From her, I learned how to set myself up for success toward my goals and to bring kindness into everything I do.”
Outside of her practice, she finds balance in time spent with her family. She and her husband, Cody Zimmerman, a middle school teacher, are the proud parents of their 3-year-old son, Kai. Whether it’s hiking through state and national parks, playing board games with family and friends, or simply enjoying time together, those moments are what keep her grounded.
Ordonez also enjoys working her way through a growing reading list, caring for her indoor plants and tending to her lawn and garden. These simple joys reflect her thoughtful, nurturing nature.
Through every role she holds — physician, wife, mother and community member — Ordonez continues to move forward with purpose, guided by the same values of compassion, strength and care that define a true Wonder Woman.
