501 LIFE to be featured during Channel 4 segment

The March edition of 501 LIFE will be highlighted on KARK Channel 4 during the 12:30 p.m. show on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Each month, 501 LIFE co-publisher and editor Sonja Keith presents information about the current edition as it hits the streets. “This month’s edition was so much fun to work on with features on twins and a set of triplets,” said Keith. “This issue has some great stories that we are certain readers will love.”

Keith will be joined for the segment by Don Potter, who is featured in the March edition. He is the founder and race director for the annual Chase Race and Paws, which will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 10, in Downtown Conway.

“This is the 13th anniversary of the Chase Race. Volunteers are working hard to make this year’s event the best one ever,” said Potter. “In addition to being the most unique race in the state of Arkansas, there will be a Pet Parade of Adoptable Dogs, and a free pet costume contest.”

Even more importantly, the race continues to commemorate the short life of Chase Potter, who died at age 13. A tragedy has been turned into a commemorative fun event for runners, walkers, children, families and pets as it celebrates Chase’s love of animals.

The event has raised $154,000 since its beginning.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be divided equally between HAVEN (Help for Abuse Victims in Emergency Need) and Friends of the Conway Animal Shelter. Chase Race and Paws promotes and raises funds for non-adopted pets and funding for a residential group home for adolescent females who have come into foster care through no fault of their own. Organizers believe that every dog deserves a life and every child deserves a home.

“501 LIFE is proud to support Don and organizers of this wonderful event,” said Keith.

In addition to the live KARK broadcast, the 501 LIFE segment can be seen on the station’s website – arkansasmatters.com. For more information on this month’s issue, visit 501lifemag.com.
