501 LIFE is hitting the streets with its August “Celebrating education” edition which will be featured on Tuesday, July 28, on KARK Channel 4.

Before COVID-19 hit the 501 in March, 501 LIFE co-publisher and editor Sonja Keith would present information about the current edition in a segment broadcast during the 12:30 p.m. news show on KARK Channel 4. Due to safety concerns, the station suspended in-house interviews for several months. Channel 4 recently resumed the segments with interviews conducted online.

“We are so excited to re-connect with our friends at Channel 4 to present our monthly segment,” said Sonja. “We are so appreciative of the support and friendship they have shown over the years.”

For the cover story of the August edition, 501 LIFE’s Stefanie Brazile and Jeremy Higginbotham interviewed area school officials and students about the impact COVID-19 has had and how school districts and teachers have responded. “It is that time of year – especially amid the pandemic – that education and back to school are on the minds of students, parents and educators,” said Sonja. “Our cover story reflects how fortunate we are to live in an area with such talented and caring school officials and teachers.”
