Wooster’s annual Star-Spangled Celebration planned for Saturday

WOOSTER—The annual Star-Spangled Celebration is planned for 5 p.m. at Wooster City Park. There is no cost to attend, but food trucks and vendors will be present. Cookie Lee & The Sweet T’s will provide music, food trucks, jump houses and a basketball court will be available. Later, a patriotic program will be led by community leaders and a fireworks display will begin at dusk.

Live music will begin at 5 p.m., and vendors and food trucks will be present. At 6 p.m., kids’ games and prizes will be offered. At 7 p.m., the Cake Walk will begin, and the cost is a $1 donation for kids 12 and younger and $2 for adults.

“The City of Wooster invites guests to our annual celebration,” said Lisa Vaden, who works for the city. “We are passionate about our democracy, our freedom and our military. To give thanks and show our proud patriotism, each year, we work to make this fun-filled and honorary event bigger and better. And that includes our fantastic fireworks finale!”

A new addition to the program is The Missing Man Table to honor POWs and MIAs.
