Women’s Leadership Academy visits City Hall

The Women’s Leadership Academy hosted a session on government on April 11. The 15-member class met with the women who are in leadership roles at Conway City Hall and attended a City Council meeting. Afterwards, the group held a debrief with the women who serve on the council.

The Women’s Leadership Academy was founded by the Women’s Leadership Network at the University of Central Arkansas. Through expert speakers, hands-on experiences and community service, the participants develop customizable skills in a network of diverse women sharing a commitment to their own beloved community. This six-month academy is committed to reaching women in a variety of pathways in life and assisting women in embracing their voice, elevating their leadership capacity and empowering them for a lifetime of leadership.

The current WLA class will graduate on Tuesday, July 11 at Willow Event Center.Nominations are being accepted for the next class. “Once we receive nominations, we will invite those women to apply,” said Shaneil Ealy, associate vice president Division of Outreach and Community Engagement. “Women can self-nominate as well. There is also an interview and selection process that will take place in the fall.” Click here to access the 2024 WLA Nomination Form.
