The 13th annual In Her Honor Women’s Health Fair will offer free health screenings, fitness classes and self-defense demonstrations from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5, at the Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center.
The event is sponsored by the Conway Regional Women’s Council and is free and open to women of all ages to learn more about health and fitness.
“We are very excited about this year’s women’s health fair. We have expanded the services that will be available to women in an effort to reach a wider sector of our community,” said Julie Finley, who is chairing the health fair for the Women’s Council. “There will be services for women and families of all ages.”
She noted that this is the first year the health fair has included a children’s activity area, self-defense instruction, a prescription drug take-back service and a number of other services.

Skin cancer
Private breast exam

Vendors will also provide information about such topics as senior services, stroke education, lactation, ovarian cancer, diabetes, Arkansas Insurance Department, WIC program, oncology, therapy services, Conway Interfaith Clinic, Faulkner County Senior Citizens Program, home health and Lifeline, hospice, Faulkner County EMS, spinal services, mammography and bone density, Literacy Action of Central Arkansas and others.
A free, child-friendly activity center will be provided for parents who are attending the health fair.
Almost 3,500 people have attended since the event began in 2002. A free continental breakfast, courtesy of Emeritus at Trillium Park, will be available for participants after they have participated in the screenings.
Women can become eligible for a door prize by visiting at least nine information booths.
