MORRILTON — The Conway County Piecemakers will present more than 20 quilts as a free gift to veterans at a ceremony from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. of July 4 at the Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton. A live auction of three quilts will follow. 

This is their 12th year hosting the Independence Day ceremony, and another is planned for November. In that time, they have presented more than 850 quilts to veterans across the state.

Some quilts are being delivered to homebound vets on other days. Their goal is to present a personalized quilt to each veteran as a symbol of their appreciation.
