Valentine Gala a success for homeless shelter

The recent Valentine Gala and Auction benefiting Bethlehem House, Conway’s homeless shelter, yielded more than $32,000. Funds came from table sponsorships and the sale of items donated by individuals and local businesses.

The event, held at oneChurch, was a sell-out for the fourth year in a row. Tyler Sellers of Preston Palmer Studios provided entertainment. The meal was provided by Pasta Grill, Stoby’s and PattiCakes.

For the second year, a jewelry hunt sponsored by Dayer Jewelers added $2,500 to the fundraiser’s earnings.

An all-new Bethlehem House video produced by Kangabloo of Conway made its premier. The video features two former residents sharing their story and how Bethlehem House helped them break free and start a new life. The video provides a perspective on homelessness in the community and the services for residents and non-residents offered by the shelter. The video can be seen on the Bethlehem Facebook page at facebook.com/bethlehemhouse.

Funds raised at the event support day-to-day operations at the shelter.

Bethlehem House seeks to encourage, equip and motivate homeless and nearly homeless individuals and families to take the necessary steps to improve their life situations.
