Union Pacific’s Big Boy visited North Little Rock

NORTH LITTLE ROCK – North Little Rock Mayor Hartwick (center) was glad to welcome Union Pacific’s Big Boy locomotive to town last weekend. Union Pacific’s Big Boy #4014 stopped in Central Arkansas as part of its heartland American tour.

The locomotive is one of just 25 built in the 1940s and only eight survived. Big Boy is the only one still in operation. It is the largest steam locomotive in the world.
