02 Nov 2015 UMW bazaar in Mayflower
Mayflower United Methodist Women will host its Fall Bazaar at 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
The church will continue its tradition of handmade fried pies cooked in peanut oil, still a bargain at $1 each. There will be chocolate, cherry, apple, peach, blueberry and apricot. (There is a very limited number of pies and they also freeze well.)
The group will also have copies of its latest cookbook, “Feeding the Flock,” which has more than 425 tried and true recipes, for just $10 per copy.
There will also be an array of home-baked cakes, breads, rolls, quick breads, jams, jellies and home preserved pickles. Come early for the best selection of gently used toys, books, collectables and other items.
All proceeds will be used to fund local mission projects such as Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for needy Mayflower families, and possibly coats for children and others in need.
The church is located at Miller (Hwy. 89 S) and Grove streets in Mayflower. For more information, please contact UMW President Carol Bales at 501.529.2330 or the Rev. Rick Wilkins at 501.442.5045.
