UCA’s ROTC remembers 9/11 today

The University of Central Arkansas’s ROTC hosted a climb at 6 a.m. today at Estes Stadium to remember the 2,977 lives lost on 9/11. Participants were invited to climb the bleachers or walk the football field in remembrance of the terrible day 24 years ago.

On September 11, 2001, terrorists linked to the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda — founded by Osama bin Laden — hijacked four commercial passenger airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the U.S.

The event was open to the public and promoted with the phrase: We climb to remember. Never forget.
