The groundbreaking ceremony for the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the corner of Bruce St. and north of Thompson Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus. The event will be live-streamed at uca.edu/windgate

The new construction is made possible by a transformative $20 million gift from the Windgate Foundation and will provide much-needed class, studio and design space while fostering new collaborative partnerships for fine arts, theatre and music students and faculty.

Speakers will include President Houston D. Davis, Interim Vice President of Advancement Mary Lackie and several others. Following remarks, members of the UCA Board of Trustees and key speakers will turn the dirt.
