06 Jul 2016 UCA players earn academic honors

The University of Central Arkansas recently placed 126 student-athletes on the Southland Conference Commissioner’s 2016 Spring Academic Honor Roll.

UCA’s total was second among the 13 league institutions. UCA also had 23 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, including five each from the softball and women’s track and field teams.

A total of 1,294 student-athletes from around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. A total of 1,294 student-athletes made the list, with 244 recording a 4.0 grade-point average. Seven universities had at least 100 honorees.

The honor roll includes student-athletes who took part in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field during the Spring 2016 semester.

UCA’s women’s track and field team led the list with 37 honorees, followed by men’s track and field team with 19, softball with 16, baseball with 14, men’s basketball with 11, women’s basketball with eight and men’s golf, women’s golf and tennis with seven each.
