05 Nov 2012 UCA hosts 15th Annual Veterans Day Celebration
The 15th Annual Veterans Day Celebration – hosted by the University of Central Arkansas and the city of Conway – is scheduled 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the UCA Football Practice Field (west of Estes Stadium).
The event is free and open to the public.
A special ceremony will take place to honor veterans. Major Gen. William D. Wofford will be the guest speaker.
Alyse Eady, a former Miss Arkansas and a morning host on Today’s THV, will perform.
The celebration will include food and information vendors, including companies and organizations that are committed to hire and provide services for veterans.
Community members wishing to honor veterans are encouraged to participate in a Red Cross blood drive and the “Be the Match” National Marrow Donor Program on site at the celebration.
