UALR track and field participants excel in the classroom

The Little Rock Track & Field programs were each recently recognized for their work in the classroom, with the announcement of the All-Academic Teams for 2024 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Both the men’s and women’s teams made the list, consisting of those programs recording a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The men’s team compiled a GPA of 3.22 while the women finished with a mark of 3.31.

In addition to the team recognition, five individuals from Little Rock were named All-Academic Athletes with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, plus meeting certain athletic performance criteria. Matthew FoxCameron JacksonAndrew PaytonEthan Sorrels, and Alexia Washington all received this honor.

“I am proud to add these academic awards to our collection of athletic awards from what was a historic season for the Trojans,” Little Rock Director of Track & Field J.P. Behnke said. “At the end of the day, we want our student-athletes to be successful in both the classroom and on the track and this honor recognizes those accomplishments.”
