UACCM presented donation

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton recently received the support of Conway County Regional Water Distribution District (CCRWDD) through a $10,000 gift to the UACCM Foundation’s “Give Meaning” campaign.  Presented during a board meeting at their offices in Plumerville, this donation is to support the construction of the Workforce Training Center.

UACCM Chancellor Dr. Larry Davis said, “We are extremely grateful for the support shown by the CCRWDD for UACCM Foundation’s Give Meaning campaign. As we continue to add new private donors, companies and organizations, such as the CCRWDD, to the list of contributors to our campaign, we are hopeful others will join them in providing future support for UACCM’s efforts in developing a skilled workforce.”

The estimated 58,000-square-feet Workforce Training Center at UACCM will house many of the college’s existing technical programs including automotive service technology; welding; industrial mechanics and maintenance technology; and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology. In addition to technical programs, an open space for workforce training will be included in the facility for use in recruiting new industry to the area, as well as assisting current industry with workforce development needs.
