Topping-out ceremony held at UACCM’s nursing center site

University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) employees, students and members of the community attended the topping-out ceremony for the new Nursing and Science Center being constructed on the UACCM campus. Those in attendance signed the beam and watched as it was installed atop the new facility.

UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg opened the ceremony by thanking several of the donors and community leaders who have helped bring the project to fruition, including Nabholz Construction of Conway, who has been constructing the facility since May.

Brad Hegeman, vice chairman and chief strategy officer of Nabholz Construction, also spoke and touted a 100% safety record on the construction of the facility to this point.

Also speaking at the ceremony was Gregg Long, Vice President of Infrastructure at Crafton-Tull, the architectural design firm for the facility, Morrilton Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer and Conway County Judge Jimmy Hart.

Topping-out ceremonies are an age-old tradition that marks progress, and UACCM is happy to take part in this ceremony to celebrate the success of Nabholz Construction and Crafton-Tull and express gratitude to the ironworkers, construction workers, architects, and engineers as the final phases of construction near for the Nursing and Science Center.Once completed, the two-story, 36,000 square-foot facility will feature seven science labs and classrooms, and two student lounges, allowing for major expansion of UACCM’s nursing and healthcare-related programs. The anticipated completion date is Fall 2025.
