A record crowd was on hand as the University of Central Arkansas Bears opened the 2011 football season.
501 LIFE was among the groups tailgating prior to the game.
Marilyn Porterfield of Conway was the winner of a fall float trip on the Buffalo River – courtesy of Silver Hill Float Service – given away as a door prize at the 501 LIFE tailgate booth.
501 LIFE will once again be tailgating and the game sponsor for the UCA Hall of Fame game on Saturday, Oct. 1. The 2011 class of the UCA Sports Hall of Fame includes nine members who excelled as student-athletes, coaches, administrators and friends of UCA athletics over the past five decades.
The Class of 2011 includes: LeRoy Dangeau, Tom Davis, Terry Hall, Brooks Hollingsworth, Monroe Ingram, Hosea Knowlton, Fay Pew, Cendey Kesler (Roberts) and Bill Tiner. The group will be inducted during Hall of Fame Weekend in conjunction with the UCA/Stephen F. Austin football game at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
In addition to the Hall of Fame festivities, the magazine will be honoring the 17 members of its 501 Football Team at a reception at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the 501 office and during the 501 tailgate party prior to the UCA game. 501 LIFE readers are invited to attend.
