24 Aug 2015 Sunshine School benefit
Shine Your Ride, benefitting the Sunshine School, is planned 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Berryhill Park at 501 Davis Dr. in Searcy.
The event is hosted by All ‘Bout Carz.
The registration fee is $20 per vehicle for the event, which will include vintage, classic and antique cars (all pre-1996). Ten classes of cars will be judged. Best of show trophies and cash prizes will be awarded.
The event will also include the Prince Titan Express train ride, Kona ice, food vendors and more.
Sponsors are Mi Pueblito, Brooks Parts & Supply Inc., Razorback Auto Sales, Charlie’s Auto Paint & Body, Bonehead Customz, Wiseman’s Wagons and Lowe’s Home Improvement of Searcy.
The Sunshine School serves all students with developmental disabilities. There is no age limit to students being admitted to the pre-school, nor is there an automatic cutoff age for adults.
The school is a non-profit organization funded by state and federal monies and tuition from public schools. Contributions from United Way of White County are used as a match to generate these funds and to augment services. There is no cost to a family for a student to attend Sunshine School.
Currently students being served are from Searcy, Augusta, Pangburn, Kensett, Des Arc, Pleasant Plains, Beebe, Judsonia, Hazen, Bradford and McCrory.
