Student’s artwork selected

St. Joseph School eighth-grader Mary Alex Lieblong’s artwork has been chosen by the school to represent it in the annual Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Conway Evening Lions Club.

The contest encourages young people between the ages of 11 and 13 to express their visions of peace. The theme of this year’s contest is "A Celebration of Peace." The posters advance through several judging levels including local, district, state and international.

For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest. The final winners will be announced in February. One international grand prize winner receives $5,000 and a trip to a special award ceremony. Twenty-three Merit Award winners from around the world will receive $500 and a certificate of achievement.
