St. Vincent recognizes volunteers

St. Vincent Morrilton Auxiliary has 36 active volunteers from Morrilton and the surrounding area.

Those individuals gave nearly 14,000 volunteer hours to St. Vincent Morrilton in 2012, which is worth more than $290,000 dollars in productivity.

Volunteers donate their time to work in areas such as the gift shop, out-patient waiting area, out-patient clinic waiting area, patient care areas, grill area and as greeters in the front lobby of the hospital. Each has the opportunity to volunteer as much or as little time as they are able and in the area in which they are capable and comfortable.

Auxiliary volunteers participate in hospital events each year like Melodies & Medicine fundraiser, bake sales, basket drawings, jewelry sales, silent auctions and luncheons held at St. Vincent Morrilton. During, and in preparation for, these events volunteers bake and serve food that is sold to raise money for the hospital and perform other tasks to make sure the events are successful.

“We’re very grateful to have our volunteers. Their efforts pay off in actual dollars donated to St. Vincent Morrilton.  Last year the St. Vincent Auxiliary volunteers raised $30,000 and donated it to the emergency department renovation project at the hospital to further the healing mission of St. Vincent Morrilton,” said Leslie (Bubba) Arnold, CEO St. Vincent Morrilton.

The volunteers are honored each year for their contributions with biannual luncheons and are honored guests at all events held at St. Vincent Morrilton.
