St. Joseph wins bowling championship

The St. Joseph School Boys Bowling Team won the state championship in the 1,2,3A classifications.

Ten teams from across Arkansas competed at the Jonesboro Bowling Center on Feb. 13. The Bulldogs were first with 3,818 pins. The Riverview Raiders (Searcy) were second with 3,718, and the Elkins Elks were third with 3,683.

Senior Drew Hambuchen was the second place medalist with 629 pins, just behind an Elkins bowler. Senior Garrott Graholm was the third place medalist with 583 pins.

The St. Joseph girls team came in fifth. Senior Erin Gatto was the first place medalist with 547 pins.

Four St. Joseph School bowlers were recently named All-State at the state tournament held in Jonesboro – Alex Halter (from left), Drew Hambuchen, Erin Gatto and Garrott Granholm. Erin Gatto was also the first place medalist in the tournament with 547 pins. Drew Hambuchen was the second place medalist in the boys competition with 629 pins. Garrott Granholm was the third place medalist with 583 pins.
