26 Apr 2011 Spring concert set for Conway Men’s Chorus
A little swing, a little classical, a little glance back at the 50s – music to make you want to tap your foot or raise an eyebrow of appreciation or just cause a chuckle – it’s all wrapped in a neat concert package by the Conway Men’s Chorus . And it’s set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas.
Under the direction of Sam Huskey, approximately 60 men from the Conway area will lift their voices in such pieces as “Homeland” by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice and Z. Randall Stroope, “O Lux Beatissima” by Howard Helvey and “We Rise Again” arranged by Stephen Smith.
Paul Bradley is the piano accompanist. Dr. Greg Murry and Jim Loyd provide assistant direction and voice coaching.
The concert is free, as is the parking. The Chorus is supported to a great extent by its own members, aided by corporate sponsorship and generous individuals in the community. The group was organized in 1998.
For more information about the Chorus or to become a sponsor, call Mike McCullars, president of the board, at 501.327.5151, or email [email protected].
