28 Mar 2016 Spring bazaar in Mayflower
Mayflower United Methodist Women will host a Spring Bazaar, Bake and Craft Sale from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 2, in the church fellowship hall.
There will be traditional homemade fried pies, cooked in peanut oil, for the same low price of $1 each. Home-preserved jams, jellies and pickles will be alongside quick breads, cookies, cakes and rolls.
Members have been busy hand-crafting items for sale to brighten home and garden and accessorize wardrobes. There will also be some housewares and furniture.
One member has crafted a lovely full size quilt with several Bible verses, pieced blocks and flying geese. The quilt may be viewed at Linda’s Grocery in Mayflower until the day before the sale. The quilt chances are just $1 per chance, no need to be present to win.
All proceeds from the sale will be used in the community for mission work for women, youth and children.
