27 Apr 2022 Six Bisons selected for honors
The Harding men’s tennis had six players selected to the All-MIAA/GAC Teams on Tuesday, April 26. The six selections for the Bisons were the most honorees in a single season in program history. The Bisons had four players named to the Second Team with six earning Honorable Mention honors.
Dani Ortiz and Arthur Bellan were named to the All-MIAA/GAC Second Team at No. 1 Doubles. The Bisons top pair is 12-4 this season and are currently ranked No. 31 in Division II in the latest Men’s ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. The pair are 2-0 this season against nationally ranked teams this season.
Morgan Salvan and Alvaro De Lorenzo were named to the Second Team at No. 2 Doubles. The pair are 12-7 this season. The pair have been in and out of the national polls this season and are currently ranked No. 6 in the Central Region Rankings. The pair are 31-13 as a team in their careers.
Ortiz was named Honorable Mention at No. 1 Singles. Ortiz earned his second All-MIAA/GAC Singles honor after being First Team at No. 2 Singles in 2021. Ortiz is 10-7 this season and went 2-1 in conference action.
Salvan earned his third All-Conference honor with an Honorable Mention at No. 3 Singles. Salvan is 11-9 this season and 7-4 at No. 3. Salvan was named First Team All-GAC in 2018 and was Honorable Mention All-MIAA/GAC in 2021.
De Lorenzo was named Honorable Mention at No. 4 Singles. He earned his second straight All-MIAA/GAC honor after being First Team at No. 5 Singles last season. De Lorenzo is 11-9 this season and has two his last two matches.
Milosh Petrovic was named Honorable Mention at No. 5 Singles after a 10-4 season. Petrovic was also named Honorable Mention at No. 3 Singles with his partner Diego Pierola. Petrovic and Pierola are 5-3 this season.
