27 Aug 2012 Seventh Annual Golf Ball Drop slated for Sept. 6
Independent Living Services will host the Seventh Annual Golf Ball Drop on Thursday, Sept. 6. at Centennial Valley Country Club’s driving range in Conway.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and fun for the whole family. Donated golf balls will be dropped from a hot air balloon at 6:30 p.m. with the grand prize of $2012 awarded to the donor whose ball lands closest to the hole.
Festivities will include hamburgers and hotdogs provided by Centennial Bank. An inflatable bounce house, face painting, shaved ice, and a silent auction featuring special items from the UCA basketball and football team are all part of the family fun and entertainment. Admission is free.
Funds raised by the Golf Ball Drop will help ILS make improvements to its transportation fleet.
Golf balls are available for purchase through donations online at indliving.org, in person at 615 East Robins, Conway, AR 72032 or mailed to P. O. Box 1070, Conway, AR 72033. The balls will be dropped over a target hole on the driving range out of a hot air balloon.
ILS is a nonprofit agency whose purpose is to assist in making a better life possible for more than 250 people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in central Arkansas.
