Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach in NLR announces ribbon cutting

North Little Rock — Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach invites the community to the Grand Opening and ribbon cutting of their new building at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31. The new building is located at 3207 MacArthur Drive in the Levy neighborhood.

The new location was selected because the Levy neighborhood has the highest percentage of Hispanic and immigrant populations in North Little Rock, according to a press release. “Over 10% of Pulaski County residents identify as Hispanic — a statistic that is similar across our nation,” said Seis Puentes’ executive director Raúl Fernández. “The Hispanic community represents the fastest-growing workforce demographic in North Little Rock. We are excited to continue and expand our support of the Hispanic community in North Little Rock and throughout Pulaski County. The new building will ensure we have adequate space and resources to achieve our goals.”

In partnership with various strategic partners including the City of North Little Rock and the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, Seis Puentes offers Adult Education classes, including GED, WAGE, ESL, basic computer skills, job training and distance learning. The Hispanic outreach also includes informational seminars, art workshops, youth summer programs and cultural exchange opportunities.

Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization on a mission to EMPOWER the Hispanic community in Pulaski County by assisting with general life in Arkansas, according to Fernández. Seis Puentes is a project of Butterfly Community Ministries, which has been serving underserved communities for 25+ years. In February of 2012, Butterfly Community formally launched its new project, Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach, and opened the Seis Puentes Education and Resources Center in Levy on Camp Robinson Road.
