Sacred Heart recognizes legacy society members

Sacred Heart Catholic School Endowment Fund recently hosted a dinner for the members of the Legacy Society at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Founded in 2013 with 28 founding members, the society recognizes and honors those who have made a lasting commitment of any size by including charitable gifts to the endowment fund in their estate plans.

Sacred Heart School’s Director of Development Alisha Koonce provided an endowment update to the group.

Special recognition was given to two funds that will make their first distribution to the school this year. The Clem and Delores (DeSalvo, ’58) Hartman Teacher Appreciation Fund will provide bonuses to teachers and the Drew Bottoms (’14) Memorial Fund will make a gift toward this year’s development campaign projects.

The Cole Hill (’01) and Carl Hill Memorial Fund and Class of 1981 funds continue to grow and are on track to reach their funding goals. The Carl and Christine Thines Tuition Assistance Fund will make its third consecutive distribution.

This year, nearly $43,000 will directly benefit the school from the endowment.
