20 Jun 2016 Sacred Heart Bazaar a success despite rain
Organizers are describing the annual Sacred Heart School Bazaar, held recently on the school campus in Morrilton, a success despite rainy conditions.
Todd Hoyt and Sonya Chadek were the co-chairs for this year’s bazaar.
While difficult to put a number on how many attended, organizers estimate that there were 3,000 who participated. “Despite the rain, we did really well,” said Chadek. “Our supporters returned on Sunday and we had a very good turnout on Saturday night for the dinner. We would like to thank everyone as always for supporting Sacred Heart School.”
Various activities were available for all ages on both nights, including a midway featuring kiddie land games, Bingo, a ham and bacon stand, a silent auction, a Baggo tournament and various other attractions. There was also a traditional spaghetti/sausage and turkey/dressing dinner.
Patrick Hartman of Morrilton was the winner of the grand prize 2016 Ford Mustang given away during the bazaar. Other winners were Lauren Cochran, $500 cash; Clem Kordsmeier, St. Louis Trip; Carol Lyon, Great Wolf Lodge; and Jon Chadek, $1,000 Rackley Furniture gift certificate.
Mini-raffle winners were Bernadette Welcher, John Deere kids gator; Beverly Boyer, gift card package; Amy Hoyt, PlayStation 4 game system; Charles Ehemann, Branson trip; Sharon Tyler, Carnival cruise.
Next year’s bazaar will be held Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3.
