ROSE BUD: Ramblers ready to surprise 2-3A

Conference: 2-3A
Coach: Kevin Coleman
’14 Record: 2-8 (0-7)

The Rose Bud Ramblers made greater strides under new coach Kevin Coleman in 2014 than would be evident by their final record. Despite just two wins, the Ramblers gained ground in their new offensive and defensive schemes and increased numbers from year one to year two.

Leading the charge for the Ramblers is senior quarterback Jake Cantey, who is a member of this year’s 501 Football Team.

“Jake is good at finishing a run and extending the play,” Coleman said. “I expect him to lead us every play in the right direction.”

Senior Devon Reed and juniors Bridge Biniakewitz and Trenton Reed make up the Rambler backfield. Senior Ky Graham returns as Rose Bud’s leading receiver. Seniors Kaleb Herring, Ethan Hendrix and Sam Strain along with junior Ryan Schaumleffel will provide leadership on the offensive line.

Schaumleffel also sees time on the defensive line, alongside junior Tyler McCready. Juniors Clint Gardner and Juan Chavez and sophomore Seth Fulton project as starting linebackers. Graham, junior Brad Chalk, senior Dakota Faircloth and Biniakewitz will lead the secondary.
