ROSE BUD: Ramblers poised to strike playoff bid

Conference: 2-3A
Coach: Steve Rose
’12 Record: 4-5 (3-4)

When the Ramblers were firing on all cylinders, they were really firing. When they weren’t firing, they really weren’t firing. In their four wins in 2012, Rose Bud averaged 46.5 points scored. In their five losses, they averaged 45 points surrendered.

Coach Steve Rose and the Ramblers are poised to make their first trip to the postseason if all goes according to plan this fall.

Senior Cole Robertson returns at running back after earning all-conference honors last fall. He rushed for 1,091 yards and 12 touchdowns and recorded 85 tackles.

“Robertson is a physical runner and our leading tackler,” Rose said. “He’s a great team leader.”

Senior Daniel Strain also sees time at running back. Junior Andrew Adcock is poised to take over at quarterback. Seniors Tristan Zimmerlee, Trey McCann, Isaac Gauvey, Jonathan Moseley and Brandon Hampton fill out the offensive line.

Strain gives the Ramblers a speed rush at defensive end. Robertson returns as a starter at linebacker, as well as senior Blake Moss. Senior Tyler Weatherly earned all-conference honors in 2012 as a defensive back, and senior Chris Henry is the top corner in the secondary.
