River City Men’s Chorus performs songs written for them by Craig Courtney

In honor of David Glaze, the Conductor and Artistic Director of the River City Men’s Chorus, the chorus recently commissioned renowned composer Craig Courtney to create a work for the talented group to perform.

The piece “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” will premiere at the upcoming fall concert series that will be performed at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock on three dates and once at Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) in Arkadelphia. The performances in Little Rock are at 3 p.m. on Sept. 15 and at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. Mr. Courtney will be present at the Little Rock performances to conduct the music he has composed to honor Glaze, along with several of his other works. The concert at OBU in Arkadelphia will be performed at 3 p.m. on Sept. 22 and is made possible thanks to the Floyd E. and Dorothy G. Henley Fine Arts Endowment.

All performances are free and open to the public. Readers are encouraged to share this email with friends, neighbors, family and coworkers. For more information, contact the River City Men’s Chorus at 501.377.1080.
