10 Mar 2013 'Rae of Hope' planned March 16
Family and friends of Whittany Rae Atkinson will celebrate her life at “Rae of Hope” to raise money to help other children.
The event is planned Saturday, March 16, in Perryville.
“Whittany would have been a senior this year,” said Misty Haile, one of the event organizers. “We want to celebrate her life and the newly dedicated Whittany Rae Atkinson home at Soaring Wings Ranch.”
Whittany – the youngest daughter of Jim and Carol Atkinson of Conway – was critically injured in a four-wheeler accident July 16, 2011, during a family gathering near Petit Jean Mountain. The 16-year-old was taken by air ambulance to a Little Rock hospital where she died the next day.
Located on 195 acres in the Holland community, Soaring Wings provides a Christian home to young people in difficult situations who need a chance to grow up in a loving, Christ-centered home.
A variety of activities are planned at the “Rae of Hope” event, including a lunch and Zumba demonstration. Crafts, baked goods and other items will be available for purchase. Rae of Hope T-shirts will also be sold.
Proceeds will go toward a donation to the ranch in memory of Whittany Atkinson.
Vendors with Arbonne, It Works, Pampered Chef, Scentsy and Thirty-One will be on hand.
