Plans set for Harvest of Hope

It’s that time of the year again – time to help fill the pantry at the Conway County Care Center.  The Annual Harvest of Hope Food Drive committee has been meeting, and has a plan in place.

The official kick off date for this year’s food drive is Monday, Sept. 14, with the culmination of all activities on Saturday, Oct. 24, with “Fill The Truck” and the Annual Harvest of Hope Gospel Singing.

Something new and soon to be ready is the official Conway County Care Center website, where individuals can donate anytime through PayPal.

The Conway County Care Center was established in 1988 in cooperation with area churches and organizations combining resources, with the mission that “No one in Conway County Goes Hungry.” It has continued to fulfill that mission through the years through grants and donations from individuals, churches and businesses.

During 2014, the Care Center provided food, clothing and other services for 2,339 households for a total of 4,069 adults and 1,837 children – a total of 5,906 people. That number keeps growing every year and that’s why giving is so very important. The Harvest of Hope Food Drive is the Care Center’s only solicited food drive of the year.

The Conway County Care Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Organizers want to say thanks in advance for the donations of time, food and money to help the Conway County Care Center fulfill its mission that “No One in Conway County Goes Hungry.”
