22 Jun 2011 Planning under way for ‘The Great Escape’

The Women’s Shelter of Central Arkansas is seeking merchants to participate in “The Great Escape,” set 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds.

Organizers are accepting merchants for booth display and sale of merchandise.  

The event includes a variety of activities, including selective shopping, a fashion show and personal services (makeovers, massages, manicures and pedicures).

All proceeds benefit the Women’s Shelter of Central Arkansas, a non-profit corporation engaged in providing a promise of hope and a haven of safety for women and children who seek protection and relief from domestic abuse.

At last year’s event, more than $9,000 was raised for the shelter.
